South African born, VA-based artist Elsabe Dixon uses biological life cycles of insects to investigate and rationalize her relationship with changing systems and network interfaces through audience interaction.
The sites where the project was constructed were not artists studios but public and academic spaces, not only in the Ghetto Biennial’s Grand Rue area but also at academic institutions like ENARTS, historical sites like the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the Palace and local ghetto sites around different red zone areas in Port-au-Prince. Each site facilitated a different audience and a different dialogue as well as a different outcome.
